“Why Add Pediatrics to Your Practice? An Introduction to Pediatric Touch Therapy”
During this session, participants learn about the many benefits of pediatric massage, who is qualified to perform pediatric massage and how to receive appropriate training in this growing field.
The importance of receiving specialized training to work with pediatric clients and children with special health care needs, who are hospitalized or have been diagnosed with a terminal illness will be discussed.
Additionally, we will review research/evidence-based benefits and indications for pediatric massage therapy.

3 Hour Session | Course Description:
“Touch Therapy for Common Childhood Discomforts | session is open to Massage & Chiropractic”
Children require tactile stimulation through a variety of sources in order to fully develop their body, mind and spirit. Those children who receive touch therapy may experience many benefits including decreased anxiety, improved muscle tone, enhanced pulmonary and immune function, enhanced body image, increased bonding and attachment, healthy sense of boundaries, stress reduction and an overall sense of well being. Pediatric touch therapy can also be useful in targeting specific discomforts.
Throughout this session explore causes of common childhood discomforts, and find ways of increasing tactile stimulation and providing relief from some of these everyday discomforts including sinus and chest congestion, constipation, stomach aches, headaches, eye fatigue, ear aches, growing pains and everyday stress and tension.
Key Learning Outcomes: During this session, participants will learn about common childhood discomforts
We will discuss the evidence based practice of pediatric massage therapy and indications for innovative use.
We will explore the importance of strategic approach for working with children.
A series of soft tissue manipulation will be taught, and hands-on practice will demonstrate how this sequence and approach may be especially beneficial to children
